Businesses Want Management Systems

Just reading a very interesting article where Australian businesses were surveyed and more than half of them said that data management projects would "improve corporate agility and allow for cost reductions and profit improvements".

The article went on to say that almost half the businesses surveyed would implement a data management solution for compliance purposes - Total Compliance Integration can provide you with the solution to that exact problem - Contact Us - we can help.

A Concerning Article

I have just read this article with some concern because there is a suggestion being made that small businesses should not employ anybody for fear of getting fined due to the increased compliance and "red tape" burden being placed on small business.

These kinds of comments worry me because the old saying "If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem" rings in my ears every time I read these types of comments.

While it is true that compliance requirements and statutory returns have increased over the years (I have been running my own "micro enterprise" as it is called in this article for over 5 years, so I am very aware of these increases) to hear a suggestion that the way to fix this challenge is to stop employing people is very counter-productive (in my opinion).

If we all took this line, then how would we grow our businesses - by working longer?

Speaking from personal experience, my family don't see enough of me as it is, so to ask them to see less of me to enable me to grow my business is not a solution.

The only way you can grow your business if this is your goal is to employ more staff (be it employees or sub-contractors) and if this means more compliance reporting, then so be it.

Like it or not, these compliance requirements are with us to stay (it is a harsh fact that they will probably increase further), so all small business operators have to think of smarter ways to be able to report on these compliance issues.

Here comes the sale's pitch - this is the exact reason why Total Compliance Integration was created - to ease the burden of compliance reporting!!!

If you have a system in your business where very quickly you can access any record you require to meet your compliance and "red tape" obligations, then this frees up your time to do all the other things you want to do - and this is exactly what Total Compliance Integration can do for you.

Time To Consider Better Compliance Recording & Reporting?

It is obvious through this article and a number of others I have been reading lately that the Government is making a concerted effort to close loopholes on tax compliance, among other things.

If you are audited to ensure you are paying all taxes dues, what recording and reporting systems do you have in place so that this can be done quickly and with very little disruption to your workplace?

If all your reports are paper based and you get audited, how many billable hours will you lose putting together the data required for the audit?

An audit like this can very quickly turn into a double edged sword - you lose money collating your data because you cannot do your job and you lose money if your current recording system is so messy that you cannot prove you are paying the appropriate amount of tax.

Consider a Total Compliance Solution system - it is not a "one size fits all" solution but a tailor made alternative - call us - we can help.

National Employment Standards

Received an interesting newsletter from NABEC yesterday, where they were encouraging their members (of which I am one) to spend time getting themselves fully conversant with their National Employment Standards (NES) obligations.

Apparently their have been a number of small businesses that have been prosecuted for non-compliance breaches of the NES 10 minimum standards of employment and NABEC was alerting its members to this fact in an attempt to ensure they are compliant with the requirements.

Are you aware of the National Employment Standards and if ever you were audited, could you provide the auditors with all the records that will prove you are compliant?

If the answer is "Not Sure" or "No" then it is worth seriously considering the services of an organisation like Total Compliance Integration. We can provide you with an online solution to ensure you have the ability to report your compliance and if all your records are currently paper based we can also upload the data for you.

It is worth taking a moment to have a look at the National Employment Standards website and contemplate how you would prove your compliance if you were ever audited - Contact Us if you think we can help.
